Tees Ka Dum Program
Research has shown that 30 hours of One on One attention in 1 year results in huge leaps in a child’s learning. Large class sizes in most municipal and public schools have negative impact on academic learning of a child. Tees Ka Dum will counter the impact by giving one on one tutoring to these children and improve their academic performance.
This program was initiated in 2008 with a belief that not only should every child receive education but every child should receive the right kind of education. Riverside School has adopted municipal school going children from Sadar Bazaar in the Cantonment area to teach them English and Math using the curriculum researched and developed at the Riverside School. Riverside School has opened its space to become a Tees Ka Dum Centre to pilot this program. Teachers, students and parents volunteer as tutors. Curriculum is specially tailored keeping in mind the environment and surroundings that the children belong to so that they see relevance in what they learn.
