Times of India - Friend of the Children

3 aProch-ers, kiran, sajith gopinath (design prof at NID) and Neena with 12 children - 7 from riverside school and 5 street children took over The Times of India office for the evening.
TOI - resident editor Bharat Desai gave us his office space to brainstorm with children, what they would like their city to do for them... How they think that the city can become more child friendly...
After 2 hours of brainstorming, the designers - kiran and hiren (toi) were at work, while children took toi editors desktops and keyed away their pleas to the city in form of poems, cartoon strips, pin-ups and plain text.
By 12 am, the page attached was the output you see and on Wednesday’s (Feb 27) page 2 of Ahmedabad times of india paper.

It was a wonderful experience for children to say the least, to see news being made in front of their eyes and better yet to be the protagonist of the story that hit the papers in the morning...
